Abstract

Organizations face pressures that encourage them to adopt practices and policies deemed legitimate in their institutional environments. This research aimed to present and validate a Conceptual model of pressures on sports federations in Iran using the fuzzy Delphi method. The study employed a mixed-method approach, gathering data until theoretical saturation was achieved, with 12 participants who had at least two years of experience on the board of a sports federation. A purposive and available non-random sampling method was chosen. Semi-structured interviews, lasting 15 to 75 minutes each, served as the data collection tool, and the validity was ensured through alignment methods. Thematic analysis, conducted with MAXQDA software, was used to analyze the qualitative data. For the quantitative validation, a Delphi group of 12 sports managers and academics with management experience in sports organizations evaluated a list of pressures compiled from the qualitative phase. The findings confirmed that the model adheres to all three fuzzy Delphi criteria: an alpha cut point of 0.5, a (d) threshold below 0.2, and a 75% expert consensus. Ultimately, by identifying these pressures, sports federation managers can better manage and respond effectively.
